Introduction of All-Glass "VISTA" Doors

October, 2008 - A step ahead of the traditional cooler doors with aluminum-framed glass panels, Anthony's all-glass "VISTA" doors were introduced at the 2008 NACS Show in Chicago.  Available as single doors, or double doors with center opening, these dual-pane laminated (and fully tempered) glass doors offer expanded merchandising area and greatly increased product visibility.

October 5-7, 2008 - This was another great show for the convenience store industry - with a strong overall focus on environmentally sustainable business practices and new products.  In an all-new display booth, Anthony was well represented by the AI Sales & Marketing team as well as by 35 of our Sales Representatives from the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and South America.  In addition to the most energy-efficient door lines and merchandising systems displayed in the booth, the industry was introduced to Anthony's new all-glass VISTA cooler doors and the NEW and improved "OptiMax2" LED lighting system.

September, 2008 - Improving both quality and performance at a lower cost, AI's new "OptiMax2" LED lighting for cooler and freezer cases is available in two versions: High Output where maximim brightness is required, and Low Output for greater energy savings.  With 50,000 hours (5.7 years) of continuous light, this system is offered with a 5-year component warranty.

Anthony Acquires Chinese Glass Door Company

November 16, 2007 - Anthony (AI) announced the acquisition of Flying Glass Company, located in Shanghai, China.  Established in 1994 by Mr. Liqing Zheng, the company began producing insulated glass doors in 1997, and today is the largest high-end glass door producer in China, with over 110 employees and sales of over $4 million. 

Flying Glass now joins the AI portfolio of brand names which includes Anthony, Ardco, DisplayRite, Pike, and SOVIS, North America.

Flying Glass specializes in insulated glass doors with tempered flat or curved glass (heated or non-heated), serving the commercial refrigeration markets in China, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, Singapore, and some Western European countries.

Jeffrey Clark, AI President & CEO, stated. "The acquisition of Flying Glass positions Anthony International to grow in the Asia/Pacific market and maintain its position as the number one global supplier of specialty glass to the refrigeration industry.  Flying Glass offers a tremendous complement to our product lines, providing new opportunities for AI to participate in the vital and rapidly developing Chinese market and the Asia/Pacific region."  Mr Zheng also noted, "This acquisition will give Flying Glass access to new technology and manufacturing processes, and access to AI's global sales force for improved sales and distribution."

 

AI - San Fernando Valley's Fastest-Growing Company

November 12, 2007 - Crediting the company's long history of innovation and its more than 800 AI employees (from research and development, to sales and customer support, to the crews who actually manufacture the doors), Dan Zeddy (AI Chief Financial Officer) accepted this award during a recent ceremony.  The announcement in the San Fernando Valley Business Journal stated, "Anthony was named the San Fernando Valley's #1 Fastest Growing Company of those with revenues in excess of $100 million.  AI had an increase of 17.6% above their 2006 revenues, which makes the Sylmar-based manufacturer the world's largest."
